Motorway Envy?

Sunday, January 16th, 2005

I learned some interesting things about Britains motorways today. For example, I just discovered that Britain's Shortest Motorway is in the town where I used to live. Not only that, but it is on the route I used to drive to work! Most of it really is just a concrete trench through the city, brightened occasionally by strange geometric murals presumably intended to prevent drivers from being hypnotised by the monotony. Other highlights include views of the black and threatening Armley prison, the imposing Social Services building or 'Kremlin' as it is known locally and the Yorkshire Post head office. Exciting stuff ;)

Camouflage Your Laptop

Megaphone or not, I want one. I've been using a G3 Powerbook with a broken display for about 2 years, so the basic concept is already working for me ;-)

Nanny Gmail Wears Blinkers

Thursday, January 13th, 2005

Gmail falsely detects an executable. Grr!Gmail (beta) really annoyed me today. I wanted to send a zip file with a pdf and two bookmark files in it, but Gmail's security features had other ideas and claimed that I had an executable in the attachment. As the picture shows, that wasn't the case. Read the rest of this entry »

Apple – iPod Shuffle

Wednesday, January 12th, 2005

It’s been rumoured for a while but this is a beauty, lack of signature jogwheel notwithstanding, the iPod ‘Flash’, or Shuffle as Steve has chosen to name it. Attention sports fans, shuffling is taking over jogging ;-)
