Burst Attention Span

Considering the intense right-wing sentiment in the US regarding illicit drug-use, it’s interesting to read that a large proportion of their college kids are using prescription and OTC products to boost their grades.

I’ve known for a while that, especially in the USA, it’s easy for students to obtain these products without a prescription and without any stigma from their peers. What’s tragic is that a good share of these young drug abusers will graduate to become the same lawyers and law-makers that send pot smokers to jail while casually popping more amphetamines because “there are so many cases to get through today” and, “you just don’t understand the pressure we’re under”.
